These blighters are tricky to catch! They pass by like bullets and you can waste half a CF card on blank sky or on blobs of out of focus bird…
I managed to get a few sharp-ish ones that I can crop down and use here – no chance of a 30×20 inch print from these though!
Posting this for +Sam Breach who seems to love Puffins!
Edit: There seems to be an issue with Google doing a narrow crop here, the full image is viewable by clicking, hopefully they'll correct the error – or maybe there's something new coming…

Yum! Looks like he got himself a good meal there!
Doesn't everyone love puffins?
Lovely capture +Andy Gray.
Hmm ok +Google+ +Brian Rose +Natalie Villalobos +Vic Gundotra et al, whats up with the narrow view of my picture? Sure its ok when you click on it, but its kinda cropped in the stream… Or is it just me?
Thanks +Athena Carey! True, everyone does or should do!
It totally is +Andy Gray. I thought you were being artsy or something until I opened it and saw the true aspect ratio. Weird…
+Athena Carey ok good, its not just me! Now where did they hide that "send feedback" button again…
+Andy Gray you so get me thinking I wanna do nature photography more
I don't think I have done any proper feedback since the new look +Andy Gray – they hid it pretty well…
+Richard Pennells any trees out the front of yours you can watch out for? Or encourage finches etc with feeders? Good starting point!
+Athena Carey well they didn't know I existed before, they do now! 1st feedback sent ever! I'm too much the polite Brit usually…
I did share a squirrel photo the other day +Andy Gray guess you missed that
and there's a row of trees outside btw
I am beaming. A beautiful puffin with a mouth full of fish posted for me?! I have had a bad morning so far, so this has cheered me up. Thanks +Andy Gray
Glad to cheer you up +Sam Breach! We all know we all love Fridays, but usually they are the most stressful days, until it turns into Saturday. Hope your day improves, but if not …just think of Puffins
+Andy Gray sigh it seems my latest photograph has been shrunk in the window also
Yep it's cropped here too +Andy Gray. Weird. Or was that Puffin descending too fast?!
ZOOOOOOOOOM!
Yeah +suzanne clements 200 mils aren't that easy to work with.
+Rogier Rood Well they do fly bloody quick and always over the top of you… but no, its a crop – but not the narrow one you see here!
+suzanne clements ZOOM! Just like you leaving a hangout when you have proofing to do!
Wow!!!!!!! I like it!
Dude! When it's my dime on the line for a print project that costs a handful of g's you bet I'm all ZOOOM! It has to his the presses this afternoon. So its sort of got my attention.
I can't believe I missed a squirrel photo!
I managed to get a rise out of you +Andy Gray!
But I know what you mean, we have no hail like hunters do!
+Andy Gray Can you let me know how you uploaded your photo? What browser are you running, and did you upload the photo from your Home page or your Photos page?
Hi +Brian Rose I loaded it direct into the album "wildlife", by going to that album and "add photos" like I usually do. I was using Chrome. After loading the image and going to compose the text the image was cropped then too, I thought it would right itself as similar happened this morning when posting my messy desk photo, but this had righted itself to show the full (uncropped) image in the stream after displaying cropped whilst composing the text …hope you can make sense of that! Thanks!
+Andy Gray Perfect, we're looking into this. Thanks for the heads up.
