To Feel the Moment

To Feel the Moment

To Feel the Moment

The other day I posted about viewing an event (or too much life) through a camera view finder and not experiencing the moment, this image below is an example of being grateful for being able to capture the moment in the form of a photograph to remember the feelings, the sounds in my head.
This was captured as a long exposure (60 seconds) looking directly out over the North Sea shortly after capturing this image (https://plus.google.com/photos/111835024921462866899/albums/5748018995026378577/5748615880408358322)
This moment was as calming as anything I can remember for years, the colours, the sounds of the gentle waves, the solitude, the freedom – feeling as if you could just float it was so serene. Something I’ve needed for so long, in these stressful, hectic, times we live in…

This is just wonderful and very serene! I love, love, love this one too :~)

  3. I hear that +Andy Gray and have been pondering this myself of late. Trying to make myself go out without my camera a bit more to be fair to my partner. Lovely emotive pic btw. I bet it evokes something different for most people :-)

  4. Just do it +Andrew Clifton-Brown !
It is good for the soul :)

+Andrew Clifton-Brown I'm not sure I can get to the point of leaving the camera at home, but certainly not whipping it out every few minutes as a picture presents itself, I'm thinking more of capturing that picture in my head which will hopefully mean more to me. Especially in regards to family and friends, as I'm frequently the one not in photos as I was taking them, I'd rather skip the photos and just enjoy the time. I've joked many times with family that one day when I'm no longer here that there will be not pictures of me as I was the one always behind the camera!

  6. Wonderful photo +Andy Gray   There is a real sense of softness and calm in this shot.  The apricot and pink tones are awesome!  I really appreciate your sentiment too. Thanks again for sharing with Sacred Sunday

  7. I made a start this moring +Andy Gray after helping me wife down at her allotment with digging and what not (I am the JCB apparently).  Was gutted as so much to shot down there with my macro lens but ho hum. My son Joe like to shoot pics of me as practice (which is payback as I have so many pics of him and he was most tolerant) so there are still pics of me knocking about.
I have to agree with you that I think It'll just be taking it everywhere still, but not whipping the camera out every few minutes is the practice I will adopt.  Cheers for that.

  8. Selfy Sunday is all I can say to YOU +Andy Gray :)

I know what you mean, to me it's the "Are we there yet" syndrome the rush to get somewhere and not experiencing the getting there. I am becoming more aware of everything that makes the image not just the technical stuff but also the feelings, emotions  and senses of the surrounding. sort of Zen stuff. really emotional image +Andy Gray

  18. Andy Gray says:

Thanks +mark helm I'm really proud of how this one turned out, it may be quite personal the feeling behind it, and to many just a minimal kind of image – but I love the fact that there is NOTHING in the image except a horizon :)
